Colour options for profiles and panels

One of the frequently asked questions is: Which types of profiles and sandwich panels are standard available in which gauges, Colorcoat® products and colours. The width of the base material (1250 or 1500 mm) determines this. A pdf file on the subject (download here pdf 152 kB), provides an easy to read overview. SAB W40.1150
Continuing improvements to the sandwich production lines have extended the SAB W40.1150 ribbings range. Since September 1st a M8L ribbing is available alongside the existing LL and PL versions.
 
SAB 106R+/750

From today onwards, our best selling deep deck profile, the 106R+/750, will be available in stainless steel too.
 

ISO 9001:2008

SAB-profiel have had an ISO 9001 certificate for many years. During our recertification in May of this year, we convincingly demonstrated to the external auditor that our quality control system works effectively and is continually being improved. This time we were no longer assessed according to the 2001 standards but by the more stringent and adapted standards and norms of 2008. On June 30th we received the new ISO 9001:2008 certificate. This certification is valid until 29th June 2012.
 

SAB project - The Wall Utrecht

The spotlight this time is on a special new project along the motorway A2 near Utrecht, The Wall: it is a futuristic combination of noise barrier and facade of a large scale shopping centre constructed of mainly using Ferrari red aluminium panels. Inside this building, measuring up to 800 meters in length and approximately 50,000 m² in surface area, is a large retail area, a building centre and hospitality and catering businesses. The planned hotel is still under construction and will give the building a striking 25 metre height. Several SAB products have a special place in this long building. The storage facilities for the shops and the cladding on the parking roof are made up of a total of 7 different colours of Colorcoat HPS200® Ultra and 2 colours of Colorcoat Polyester on a trapezoidal profile SAB 40/915 (more than 10,000 m²). The project also uses 3,600 m² of structural liner trays SAB B90/500 with colour 9002.

Tata Innovation Award

The Ecological Multifunctional Climate Ceiling (E=MC² roofing/ceiling system)  has been developed by the Corus Construction Centre Netherlands in conjunction with RD&T and SAB-profiel.  With this innovating system 50% energy saving can be achieved. E=MC2 won the first prize on the annual Tata Innovation Event: “Innovista 2009” held in London in June. A total of 30 teams, representing the total Tata Group in Europe, competed for the prestigious Tata Innovation Award.

The SAB 153R/840 steel deck of SAB-profiel was designed to bear the extra weight of the roof and is produced with a special perforation pattern and a protective foil to allow the troughs to be filled with a concrete mix with Phase Change Materials. A 50% reduction in heating/cooling costs can be achieved using the innovative, low temperature heating/cooling system combined with heat buffering capabilities. The special SAB perforation pattern optimises the acoustics in the building.
